Asset Health Analyser
Business driver: Measurement quality of Oil, Gas and water metering systems was unsure, especially of the non fiscal measurements. This caused uncertainty in the produced volumes water, gas and oil per field. Field and Reservoir management could therefore not rely on measurement data to calibrate their models. This meant that the recoverable oil and gas volumes were lower and recovery investment projects had an uncertain foundation. This concept is used for Shell in their Production Portal see here
To monitor the health of all their critical metering systems a metering portal was made including an automatic health evolution process. Using the muBuilder a set of algorithms was made, one for each meter system type. In the example below an algorithm is shown to evaluate a Class II metering type. The context of the health evalaution engine can be found in the application paper presented by Lex Scheers (Shell Gobal Solutions) at the North Sea Flow Measurement Workshop October 2009.
The integrity of metering systems depend on many parameters from different data sources. The muAlgorithm combines laboratory, Engineering and measurement data to evaluate the integrity of the metering systems. Evaluation results clearly guide plant owners to the desired Metering improvement work process.
